John Howard, former Australian PM, has offered to support the Liberal Party. He appeared at a dinner in Brisbane and consoled his party. He accused the current government of taking credit for the economic situation and says he was the most proud on the gun control laws he bought into legislation. He has spoken of the new leader Brendan Nelson, Federal Opposition Leader, with Nelson saying he is confident he can retain the position.
