Tasmanian duck hunting season will go ahead

The duck hunting season in Tasmania will go ahead, following approval from David Llewellyn, Minister for Primary Industries, Tasmania Government, in spite of five separate groups calling for Llewellyn to consider scientific reports into duck numbers, which persuaded mainland states to cancel the hunting season this year. Llewellyn says the Game Management Liaison Committee recommended the season go ahead. Rick Butler, CEO, RSPCA, Tasmania, has called the decision irresponsible, given certain duck numbers are at their lowest ever in Tas.
