Oakleigh Pistol Club is upping the ante with their fundraising efforts for 2011, giving away an Audi A1 car worth more than $36,000!
Last year, the Victorian-based club raffled off a 2010 Model Heritage Softail Classic Harley-Davidson motorcycle worth $34,000 amid much fanfare and this year, they’re aiming for an even more successful raffle.
Fundraising organiser Michael Grosovero said all money raised from their fundraising efforts would go towards upgrading club facilities. With an ever-increasing membership, Michael said this was proving to be an expensive and necessary task for the club. He said large promotions such as the Audi giveaway were a great way to raise money and create one effective club fundraiser, instead of a number of smaller ones.
While the Oakleigh Pistol Club is not an affiliated SSAA club, many of its members belong to the SSAA and it’s hard to ignore such an innovative fundraising effort by a shooting club.
