Leatherman recently announced the launch of the MUT- the first multitool that functions both as a practical and tactical tool for military, security personnel and recreational shooters.
MUT features 17 tools and three bits, making it an efficient and useful operational piece to carry. Multiple areas on the tool are threaded to clean rods and brushes. All the screwdriver bits are sized for standard military and recreational sighting adjustment work. The Torx screwdrivers help to replace parts on the spot.
Multitool enthusiasts will marvel at the functions, capabilities and look of the Leatherman MUT, which also features none other than a hammer! Other tools on the unit include 420HC stainless steel clip-point combo straight/serrated knife, needlenose pliers with military performance-spec cap crimpers, 154CM replaceable fuse-wire cutters, stranded wire cutters, saw, hammer, replaceable cutting hook, bolt override tool, replaceable C4 punch, replaceable carbon scraper, cleaning rod/brush adapters, carabiner clip, bottle opener, large bit driver, electrical crimper. The bits include a Phillips #1-2 and 3/16, Phillips #2 and 1/4 screwdriver, Torx #15 and Hex 7/64.
The Leatherman MUT measures 12.7x7.62cm and weighs 317.5g and is constructed of a stainless steel body with stainless steel handles. It has a bronze carbon scraper, titanium pocket clip and removable pocket clip, and comes with a ½ and 3/8" wrench accessory and a MOLLE sheath. All blades and tools lock and the outside-accessible blades can be opened with one hand. The unit is also available in a black oxide version.
The Leatherman MUT has a 25-year warranty and has a recommend retail price of $400.
