Sports Performer of the Year Awards voting now open

Public voting opens today for the fourth annual Sports Performer Awards, presented by The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, in conjunction with Colonial First State.

These awards aim to be one of the most prestigious prizes in Australian sport - recognising the very best performers from the previous 12 months. Unlike other major awards, the Sports Performer of the Year Awards are voted for by Australia’s passionate sporting public.

The awards consist of five categories and the winners will be announced at a special function to be held in Melbourne at Crown Casino on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. The winner of the illustrious Sports Performer of the Year Award will receive $50,000 courtesy of Colonial First State. Everyone who votes in the Sports Performer Awards will also go in the draw to win $5000 from Colonial First State and tickets to the Awards night.
