Power Plate - a new fitness breakthrough in Australia
The fitness revolution that has exploded across the UK and Europe is now shaking up the industry in Australia.
Power Plate machines, the world’s number one in vibration training equipment, has experienced a surge in popularity and impressive market share in the first six months of 2009, with more than 40 gyms including Richard Branson’s Virgin Active fitness clubs and numerous private clients adopting the technology.
Adam Smith, director of En_core Fitness Solutions, the sole distributor of Power Plate equipment in Australia, said the growth in popularity of the machine was due to the outstanding results and scientifically proven benefits of the equipment.
“It was only a matter of time before the Australian fitness industry embraced the Power Plate technology as the benefits and success of the equipment has been so well documented in the UK and Europe,” Mr Smith said.
“Power Plate machines are a key feature of the recently launched Virgin Active Gyms in Sydney and Melbourne and the feedback from customers is that the equipment is already offering powerful and fast results.”
Power Plate equipment uses the principles of Vibration Training to stimulate the body's natural response to vibration. The vibrations emitted from the plate transmit waves of energy throughout the body, activating muscle contractions between 25 and 50 times per second.
Using a Power Plate machine contributes to overall performance enhancement in sessions as short as 15 minutes a day, three times a week.
According to En_Core director Greg Minefos, the benefits of using a Power Plate machine are wide ranging and have been proven in a number of independent research studies.
“Regular training on a Power Plate machine can help improve muscle strength and tone, flexibility, range of motion and circulation, and enhance metabolism to aid weight loss,” he said.
“Exercising on the Power Plate equipment can also help to reduce sports injuries, speed up rehabilitation and shorten healing time; it is also used by many sports professionals from a range of disciplines for stretching, warming up, massage and relaxation purpose.”
Power Plate has 85 per cent share of the world-wide vibration training market and are currently being utilised by high-profile sporting teams including Manchester United, Chelsea Football Club, Chicago Bulls and the New York Yankees.
Celebrity fans of Power Plate training include Madonna, Hilary Swank, Clint Eastwood and Danni Minogue.
