KIAA’s best kangaroo recipe competition
The Kangaroo Industry Association of Australia (KIAA) is calling on Australian chefs to submit their best kangaroo dish to win over $15,000 worth of culinary prizes.
The competition funded by the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation will help focus creative chefy minds on what should be our national dish. And given there’s some great prizes the organizers are expecting plenty of entries.
First prize is a Black Mojito Aprilia scooter bike valued at $6750 (plus on-road costs). Second prize is a lifetime of Tojiro Japanese knives, valued at $5,000.00 and third prize is a food themed original painting by Queensland realist Claire Stenning, valued at $3,500.00.
A judging panel involving the Le Cordon Bleu team in Sydney will present final cook-off for winners in July, 2009.
Entries collected will be also be used to compile a national kangaroo recipe book that will be printed at the end of the year.
