Winchester Australia, established in Geelong, Victoria, in 1967, will this weekend relaunch its iconic brand at the 2009 SHOT Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
Winchester Australia, an independently-managed Australian entity, is one of a specialised breed of Australian manufacturers, also wholesaling and distributing ammunition, firearms and related accessories worldwide.
“Winchester Australia is a brand known for its superior product quality and legendary performance to recreational, professional and sporting shooters, as well as defence and law enforcement agencies,” says General Manager Clive Pugh.
“Our unique positioning is backed up by our 150-year tradition and product innovation, and stands us out as an iconic Australian brand,” says Mr Pugh.
Winchester Australia is the only division of the worldwide Winchester Group that acts as a distributor in its own right, covering the total Australian market and some market categories in New Zealand, Japan, Asia and Europe.
Mr Pugh says the Geelong manufacturing plant is unique in that it is the source of some of the world’s finest rounds, including the famous range of Australian rimfire ammunition.
“The new brand represents the combined 150-year history of both the global company and Winchester Australia, while at the same time looks toward a healthy future, “says Mr Pugh.
The new brand will be launched at the SHOT Expo, Melbourne Showgrounds, on Saturday and Sunday Mary 23 and 24, 2009.
