Job opportunity in retail gun trade - junior fulltime retail assistant

A junior retail assistant position has opened up at Victorian Arms - one of Melbourne’s oldest and most diverse retail firearms dealerships. This role would be ideal for anyone with the enthusiasm and motivation to embark on a career in the firearms industry.

This junior position will involve working under the direction of the existing sales staff for general duties, some administrative work and a progressive introduction onto the sales floor. It will become a long-term position for the right applicant, starting on a three month trail basis.

The applicant must be motivated, well spoken and well presented. Sales experience is not essential, but some technical knowledge would be useful. We sell all types of firearms and accessories so any background knowledge you may have will be an advantage. We are, however, looking for someone with people skills and the motivation to learn and perform the following duties:
• Taking phone orders
• Stocking shelves
• Packing/mailing customer orders
• General upkeep of the workspace

Requirements of applicants include:
• Drivers Licence
• Firearms Licence
• Some proficiency using computers

Please note that Victorian Arms is a Class 1 Firearms Dealer also selling handguns. Because of this, the successful applicant must be prepared to have fingerprints taken and a basic police check made.
