Welcome to Australian Hunter 27. In this edition, it seems we are tackling the larger species from Australia and overseas, with stories on hunting feral pigs in Cape York, goats in New South Wales, sambar in Victoria and warthog and other safari animals in Africa.

Matthew Godson then gives us a detailed look into the history of Australia’s number one exotic predator - the feral fox - and why hunters are so vital to Australia’s environmental future.

In the ‘Camp Kitchen’ section, Paul Barker teaches us how to make our own venison pastrami. You’ll also get a sneak peek at one of 50 tasty recipes contained in the SSAA’s Cooks Companion. This recipe book, of course, was compiled from the hundreds of recipes that were donated to us by Australian Hunter and Australian Shooter readers. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
