Welcome to the 26th edition of Australia’s favourite hunting magazine. As you will see, your Hunter has had a name change and is now Australian Hunter.

While we will still bring you hunting opportunities, adventures and stories from hunters all over the world, we are sure the name change will better reflect what we are all about. Whether you hunt recreationally for the table or a trophy, for your profession or as part of necessary game management, Australian Hunter is for you, the Australian hunter!

Apart from the name change, in this edition you will read a special section. ‘The .243 project’ shares how our team of hunters and shooters purchased five commonly available hunting rifles, all in the .243-calibre and from brands you recognise and trust, and then used the expert services of a gunsmith to obtain the very best hunting accuracy from the rifles.

We are also offering our readers the chance to own one of these rifles. Read page 35 to learn how to register, so you can bid to win your favourite hunting rifle.

Enjoy your revamped Australian Hunter.

Good hunting and happy bidding!
