Allan Bennett and Dave Roberts Snow on the ground above 400m and massive rain and winds very nearly postponed the 2010 Tasmanian Combined Services State Championships, but on the day, the charts looked promising and the rain eased and everything went ahead.
Practice was conducted on the Friday in 30 to 50km crosswinds and the average temperature dropped to 5C. Saturday’s temperature came up a couple of degrees, but the wind still affected the scores at 500m. For the Pistol events, Sunday dawned sunny, but less competitors braved the wind, so shooting was finished by 1pm and allowed time for a presentation and barbecue to complete the weekend. All in all, a good weekend of shooting was had and thanks must go to those who helped in any way.
