Australian Greens leader Senator Bob Brown has formally asked the Attorney-General’s Department for information regarding stolen handguns. We will provide you the answers in full when they are released.

*288     Senator Bob Brown: To ask the Minister representing the Attorney-General:

(1)     Between the following years, what total number of handguns were stolen from each jurisdiction: (a) 1978-83; (b) 1984-89; (c) 1990-95; (d) 1996-2001; and (e) 2002-07.

(2)     From what source were the handguns stolen (ie, individuals, gunshops, security firms, etc.).
