The Australian Fishing and Lifestyle Party supports the legitimate ownership and responsible use of firearms within the Australian community with due regard for public safety.

Shooting and hunting have strong connections with Australia’s modern history and heritage as legitimate recreational pursuits and as such, the rights of Australians to pursue these activities lawfully should not be hindered by unnecessary or intrusive legislation or unjustified limitations of access.

The AFLP also recognises that educational and conservation programs promoting ethical shooting and hunting have a major role to play in the development of these pastimes as a positive and valuable part of our broader community.

Fishing and hunting have a rightful place as part of our natural world.
