Noise proposal could affect WA shooting clubs

The Western Australian Department of Environment and Conservation has proposed changes to the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations and shooting clubs will be among the facilities affected if the changes are approved.

A document explaining the amendments has been created to assist those wishing to completely understand the implications. Special interest seminars will also be held in Kensington, Western Australia, to inform the public.

The Department is seeking public comment over the proposed changes. Submissions can be sent to Principal Environmental Noise Officer John Macpherson at the Department of Environment and Conservation, Locked Bag 104, Bentley Delivery Centre, WA 6983 before May 23, 2011.
