Lobbying news update
SSAA National is in regular contact with important groups and individuals to better promote and protect the interests of all members. In recent lobbying news, SSAA National President Bob Green and Federal Parliamentary Lobbyist Tim Bannister met with the Minister for Home Affairs Brendan O’Connor, discussing subjects such as Customs and its regulation of folding and adjustable length stocks and importation of spare firearm parts. Additionally, discussions were held about the issue of larger calibre firearms and range and hunting suitability in Australia.
Tim Bannister also recently met with the new Shadow Minister for Youth and Sport Steven Ciobo and Tasmanian Labor politician Dick Adams in regard to firearms, hunting and sport shooting. Mr Adams is a strong supporter of the SSAA.
